Accident Report
July 24, 2026, two people were injured following a car accident which took place at 10:26 p.m. along Dumas Drive.
According to officials, the crash happened at the Dumas Drive (US 87) and River Road split in north Amarillo.
It appears that a 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were on a Honda motorcycle going northbound. A Toyota Tundra was going westbound. Officials said that either the Tundra failed to yield, or the motorcycle failed to control its speed, leading to the vehicles colliding.
As a result of the crash, the two men on the motorcycle had serious injuries. No other details about the crash are available at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
I have to wonder if authorities obtained any further clarity on what happened here since these initial statements. What’s more, I wonder if their efforts were thorough and unbiased. I’ve actually had to correct official reports about motorcycle accidents in the past because an officer let their bias get in the way, leading to inaccurate reports. Unfortunately, a lot of folks are quick to blame motorcyclists without actually having all the facts. That’s when there may need to be independent investigations to set the record straight. If that won’t be necessary here, that would be good. Ultimately, that’s up to the victims to say for themselves.
