Brownsville, TX — February 22, 2024, two people were injured in a car accident at approximately 4:00 p.m. along Paredes Line Road.
According to authorities, a 46-year-old man was traveling in a southbound Volkswagen Jetta on Paredes Line Road approaching the Avenida Ana intersection when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that the man allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. As a result, the Jetta veered to the left, crossing over the center turn lane and entering the northbound lanes of the roadway. This led to a collision between the Jetta and an oncoming Buick Century occupied by a 54-year-old man.
The man from the Buick incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident, while the sole occupant of the Jetta sustained apparently minor injuries. Both of the victims were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medical facilities in order to receive necessary treatment.
