UPDATE (November 14, 2024): Recent reports have been released which clarify some of the details as to what happened leading up to and during this accident. According to these reports, a vehicle occupied by a 30-year-old woman and six children between the ages of four and 14 was traveling on Washington Boulevard approaching the Avenue A intersection. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the vehicle entered the intersection at an apparently unsafe time, failing to stop for the red light indicated by the traffic signal. A collision in the intersection followed between that vehicle and one other. The car that ran the red light reportedly caught on fire over the course of the accident, as well. All seven people from that car and three from the other car involved suffered injuries of varying degrees of severity. No additional details are currently available. The investigation remains ongoing.

Beaumont, TX — July 29, 2024, ten people were injured following a two-car accident at approximately 7:45 p.m. along Washington Boulevard.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision took place between two vehicles at the intersection. One of the vehicles which overturned over the course of the accident caught on fire. A total of ten people were transported to local and area medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment of injuries of varying degrees of severity. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identities of those involved—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
