How Did This Accident Occur?

A single-vehicle crash this early in the morning raises some all too familiar flags. The most common explanations would be that the driver was on their phone, fell asleep at the wheel, or was driving while intoxicated. However, it’s best to avoid jumping to conclusions. It’s possible there were unusual or extenuating circumstances that led to the crash which need closer attention.

Did the vehicle have some sort of defect? Did a tire blowout? Was there something in the road? Did a bar unlawfully over-serve the driver? Was the driver experiencing a medical emergency? Is this road itself hazardous in some way? I’ve seen all of these things and more lead to a crash without authorities ever catching on. The fact is that their investigations sometimes only scratch the surface, and this can lead to incomplete investigations unless independent investigators step in to catch whatever authorities missed.

Hopefully this crash gets attention from experienced, thorough accident reconstructionists so nothing important slips through the cracks. In the meantime, if anyone saw something related to this crash I should know about, tell me in the comments.
