Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

With single-vehicle accidents, there’s always a concern of whether or not investigations were thorough enough. To be blunt, these crashes aren’t often seen as a high priority. That can result in authorities missing important details or failing to examine possible factors that they may feel are unlikely or unimportant. A lot of victims and families wait around thinking authorities are going to help tell their side of the story only to find themselves weeks or months down the line out in the wind without any clear answers. That’s one of the reasons these kinds of accidents tend to fare better in the hands of independent accident reconstructionists. Even if less common or more complex possible factors are ruled out, that can be vital in making sure the full story is told properly. It remains to be seen if any such steps were taken here.
