UPDATE (March 18, 2024): The woman who lost her life as a result of this accident has been identified as 29-year-old Candice Ashton Woerner.

Montgomery County, TX — March 3, 2024, a woman was killed in a car versus fire truck accident at approximately 4:00 a.m. along Interstate Highway 45.

According to authorities, a fire truck was parked blocking the lanes of traffic at the site of a previous accident on Interstate Highway 45 when the accident took place.

The causal factors that led to the wreck are still unclear. Officials indicate that for as yet unknown reasons, a passenger vehicle collided with the back right corner of the parked fire truck. The woman who had been behind the wheel suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
