Texarkana, TX — June 9, 2024, Byron Powell was injured following a car accident that happened at around 10:23 p.m. along Interstate 30.
According to initial details about the accident, it took place along eastbound lanes of the interstate west of Kings Highway.
Initial details said that 41-year-old Byron Phillip Powell was in a Honda Accord going eastbound on the interstate. The vehicle reportedly crashed into the end of a barrier. As a result of the crash, Byron Powell reportedly was seriously injured.
There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. Additional details are unavailable.

One of my biggest concerns with single-vehicle accidents is they sometimes slip through the cracks due to being seen as a “low priority”. For the victims and families involved, though, they’re priority number one. That’s why a lot of folks decide they need independent investigators looking things over so they know there aren’t important details being brushed aside. Whether or not that was needed here isn’t clear from the initial reports.
