Lynn County, TX — August 15, 2026, a teen was killed and Brylee Renteria and three other people were injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 10 p.m. on U.S. Highway 380.

A 17-year-old O’Donnell girl, a passenger in the Ford, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash east of Tahoka, according to authorities.
Ford driver Brylee Renteria, 18, and two Lamesa teens riding with her were transported to a Lubbock hospital with serious injuries, authorities said.
The Nissan driver, a 44-year-old Lubbock man, was charged with intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault, according to authorities.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Lynn County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Authorities should look beyond the scene of this accident if blood tests confirm the Nissan driver was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
That matters because alcohol providers like bars or restaurants can share responsibility for injuries caused in a crash like this if the driver was served while obviously intoxicated.
The only way to know if that applies in this instance is to figure out where the Nissan driver had been drinking before he got behind the wheel.
Those affected by this crash deserve to know everyone who may have played a role in this accident.
