Smith County, TX — May 19, 2024, Brodderick Freeney was injured following a motorcycle accident at around 1:00 a.m. along Highway 155.
Authorities say the crash happened near Dogwood City at the Frankston Highway Lake Palestine bridge.
According to officials, 41-year-old Brodderick Freeney was on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle going southbound on Frankston Highway. The motorcycle reportedly lost control and fell over, skidding and throwing off Freeney. Freeney reportedly sustained serious injuries and had to be flown from the scene. At this time, no further information is available.

When it comes to single-vehicle wrecks, there’s always a concern that authorities may not have given them the attention they need. They’re not often a high priority, and sometimes departments have officers move on to other work before they’ve been able to actually finish the accident reconstruction. Unfortunately, motorcycle wrecks share this concern. So with this incident involving both scenarios, I have to wonder if authorities here actually gathered evidence and got the victim’s side of the story or if they simply jumped to conclusions. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time if independent investigations showed there was a lot authorities let slip through the cracks.
