Accident Report
El Paso, TX — April 30, 2026, Brissa Rodriguez was killed in a truck accident at about 6:30 a.m. in the 900 block of Artcraft Road/State Highway 178.
Authorities said a westbound 2015 Nissan Sentra crashed into a Freightliner semi-truck with a flatbed trailer near the New Mexico border.
Nissan driver Brissa Celeste Rodriguez, 23, died from injuries suffered in the crash west of Westside Drive, according to authorities.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the El Paso County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
It is not clear at this point why the Nissan crashed into the truck. Was the driver distracted? Did the Nissan have a problem with its brakes? Did another vehicle force the Nissan to move into the same lane as the truck? Was the truck stopped or slowing without brake lights?

Investigators, either police or an independent third party, will gather evidence from the scene, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage of the crash. Cell phone data could help show what the drivers were doing at the time of the crash.
