How Did This Accident Occur?

A head-on crash like this usually results from one vehicle veering into oncoming traffic, but at this point we don’t know which one left its lane near Beaver Point. That undoubtedly will be part of investigators’ focus as they pore over evidence at the scene, data from the vehicles’ engine control modules and any available video footage of the crash, but they also need to figure out why this accident happened.

Was one of the driver’s distracted? Or avoiding an object in the road? Or did one of the vehicles have a problem that affected its steering mechanism? I’ve seen these scenarios contribute to crashes throughout my career as a personal injury attorney, so investigators should consider these possibilities in their probe.
