How Did This Accident Occur?

From initial reporting on this crash, it’s not clear which driver was at fault. Was the truck going too fast to avoid this collision? Did the Ford driver turn when it wasn’t safe? Authorities likely will determine the answers to those questions as they investigate this crash, but they still will need to dig deeper to figure out why this crash happened.

Data from the vehicles’ engine control modules and cell phone records can shed some light on what each one was doing before the crash, while an outside expert may be needed if investigators suspect either vehicle had a mechanical issue that contributed to this accident.
