Kendall County, TX — October 15, 2025, Bradly Dietert was killed as the result of a truck accident at around 8:43 p.m. along Interstate 10.
Authorities said that the crash happened in the area of Bandera Road along westbound lanes of the interstate.
According to officials, 40-year-old Bradly Dietert was in a Toyota Tundra going along I-10. Up ahead, an 18-wheeler apparently was disabled on the roadway. The Tundra crashed into the 18-wheeler. As a result, Bradly Dietert was killed.
Reports say that the disabled 18-wheeler did not have any rear lights on at the time of the crash. This and other factors remain under investigation.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If it’s true that the 18-wheeler involved in this didn’t have any lights on, it’s important to know why that happened. Maybe this is some one-in-a-million freak accident caused by an unforeseeable defect. Or, more likely, there were mistakes behind the scenes that culminated in this deadly crash. Investigations need to retrace the truck driver’s steps and determine where these problems began. Doing so means asking key questions.
Why did the truck break down in the first place? Did it have known issues that the company failed to address? Were they not keeping up with routine maintenance? Did the truck driver know their truck had mechanical issues but drove it anyway? After the truck broke down, did the driver have time to put out reflective cones or flares? Did they even have that equipment? Was this driver properly trained to handle this sort of emergency? Have they or their employer been involved in incidents like this before?
These questions can help determine if decisions long before the driver got behind the wheel led to the crash. If that’s what happened, the consequences for the accident can’t begin and end at the crash scene. If they do, the root cause of the crash might simply continue unchallenged. Asking these questions early on not only helps ensure there are appropriate consequences for the deadly crash, it also helps prevent other families from suffering the same loss in the future.
