How Did This Accident Occur?
After a hit-and-run accident like this, it’s important to determine why the box truck didn’t stop. Was it because the driver felt guilty about causing the crash, or because of a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism?
It will be hard to answer those questions until the box truck and its driver are found. Witnesses and nearby traffic and security cameras should help authorities locate the truck.
Once it is found, investigators should find data in the truck’s engine control module that shows that it was doing right before the crash, but a deeper examination of the truck to see if it had any mechanical issues.
