Zapata County, TX — October 28, 2024, One child is dead following a bounce house accident in Zapata County, TX.
An investigation is underway into a fatal accident that claimed the life of a 5-year-old and injured a 3-year-old. According to reports, the children were playing in the bounce house when a large gust of wind picked it up into the air.
At this time it is unknown if the bounce house was carried out of the yard, or if it was lifted straight up vertically. Both children were severely injured when first responders arrived, however the 5-year-old succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead. The 3-year-old was taken to an area hospital and their condition remains unknown. The exact location of where this fatal accident occurred is unknown, just that it was in Zapata County.
