Ector County, TX — September 19, 2024, Bobby Guthrie was injured following a single-car accident at about 3:30 a.m. along Farm to Market 1053.
According to authorities, 40-year-old Bobby Guthrie was traveling in a northbound Ford F-150 on F.M. 1053 at the Interstate Highway 20 westbound service road intersection when the accident took place.
The cause of the accident remains unclear. F.M. 1053 ends in a T-shaped intersection with the service road. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, rather than turn onto the service road, the pickup truck reportedly disregarded the stop sign and continued straight at the intersection. It apparently drove off of the roadway and into a field north of the road, coming to a stop after crashing into a dirt pile.
Guthrie suffered serious injuries as a result of the wreck, according to reports. He was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
