Laredo, TX — February 8, 2024, Blanca Ramirez de Huerta and one other person were injured in a car accident on U.S Highway 83.
According to authorities, 70-year-old Blanca Ramirez de Huerta and a 75-year-old man were traveling in a westbound GMC Terrain SUV on Palo Blanco Street at the U.S. 83 intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, a northbound Toyota Camry on U.S. 83 neglected to stop for the indicated red light, entering the intersection at an unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the Camry and the SUV. Both occupants of the GMC reportedly incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck. They were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
