Vancouver, WA — March 26, 2024, a young boy was injured in a bicycle versus school bus accident at approximately 7:20 a.m. along Ellsworth Road.
According to authorities, a 9-year-old boy was traveling on a northbound bicycle on Southeast Ellsworth Road approaching the Southeast 10th Street intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, as the school bus was attempting a right-turn from Ellsworth Road onto 10th St., the bicycle struck the bus on its right side. The child and his bike reportedly became stuck underneath the bus and were dragged for some distance before the vehicle came to a stop. The boy was apparently trapped by his bike beneath the bus and emergency personnel had to work in order to extract him from the wreckage.
The boy incurred suspected serious yet non life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment.
