Marshall, IL — January 16, 2024, Benjamin Myers was killed in a truck accident at approximately 7:15 a.m. along Interstate 70.
According to authorities, 26-year-old Benjamin Myers was traveling in a westbound pickup truck in the vicinity just east of the exit for IL-1 when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pickup truck was unable to safely maintain its lane of travel. It allegedly veered right, colliding with a guardrail and then returning to the roadway where it crashed into a westbound 18-wheeler. Myers reportedly incurred fatal injuries due to the wreck; he was declared deceased at the scene of the accident. No other injuries have been reported.
