Houston, TX — May 25, 2025, Ayodeji Abiola was killed as the result of a car accident at around 12:25 a.m. along Highway 6.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened along northbound lanes of the highway just off Westheimer Road.
According to officials, 40-year-old Ayodeji Abiola was on the right shoulder along the highway. On the roadway, A Cadillac and a BMW were both going at reportedly high speeds when the Cadillac left its lane. It struck Ayodeji Abiola, then reportedly fled the scene.
Due to the accident, Ayodeji Abiola reportedly sustained fatal injuries. One other person reportedly fell out of the Cadillac and was seriously injured. No other injuries were confirmed.

There are certainly more questions than answers here, but hopefully details will eventually lead to authorities identifying the driver who fled the scene. That could certainly happen with one person from that vehicle being left behind, though it may take time for them to recover.
One of the reasons this is so important is not just to see an alleged runaway driver held accountable for leaving the scene. It’s also important to know why they left the scene. A lot of the time, there’s something specific the driver wanted to hide, such as warrants or drunk driving. Ultimately, victims and families deserve to see those who wronged them held fully accountable for their actions.
