Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
When it comes to single-vehicle accidents, people often jump to conclusions. They figure if no other drivers are involved, who else could be responsible? They’re forgetting, though, that there are many factors drivers have no control over. Tire blowouts, medical conditions, road hazards, poor signage or lighting, vehicle defects, etc. Likely or not, a proper accident reconstruction should be able to confirm or rule out these other possible factors. If authorities haven’t been able to do that here, there may need to be more thorough independent investigations.
