Accident Report

June 5, 2026, Arthur Fernandez Jr. and a child were killed following a firetruck accident at around 12:24 p.m. along State Street.

Investigators said that the crash happened hear State Street, Domenigoni Parkway, and Gibbel Road intersect, south of Hemet in Riverside County.

Authorities said that 43-year-old Arthur Fernandez and at least two children were in a Mini Cooper going on Gibbel Road. A fire engine was traveling northbound on State Street responding to an emergency call, reportedly with its lights and sirens on. At the intersection, the vehicles collided.

Arthur Fernandez and his 10-year-old son reportedly died due to the collision. The other child from the Mini Cooper was taken to a hospital. It’s unclear if anyone else was injured.
