How Did This Accident Occur?
When a vehicle fails to yield at a stop sign, it’s usually due to distraction. One of the first things I expect to see from an accident reconstruction is cellphone data. It’s just such a common problem that it would be unreasonable to overlook it. That said, it’s also important to consider uncommon possible factors.
Even something like a missing stop sign or a vehicle suffering sudden brake failure deserves attention, even if it’s just to rule out that possibility. This not only helps catch things when something unusual does happen, but it otherwise helps fill in gaps that could otherwise be used to shift blame or muddy the waters. This generally gives victims and families the best opportunity possible to get a proper resolution.
