Accident Report

August 25, 2026, three people were injured following an apartment fire accident that took place around 6:00 a.m. on Calmont Avenue.

According to preliminary details about the accident, it happened at an apartment complex off the corner of the Calmont Avenue and Green Oaks Road. It appears that a fire broke out at the complex, displacing nearly 50 residents. Following rescue efforts, at least two residents had to be taken to the hospital. One firefighter also reportedly sustained injuries.

At this time, further information about the cause of the fire remains unclear.

I find that a lot of people are quick to assume residential fires start because a resident did something wrong. That’s obviously possible, considering things like cooking mishaps or use of open flames. But with rental properties, a lot of things can go wrong.
