Freestone County, TX — May 15, 2024, Angeline Gama was killed and two minors were injured in a car versus train accident shortly before 3:45 p.m. along C.R. 1001.
According to authorities, 23-year-old Angeline Gama and two female children ages five and three were traveling in an eastbound Honda Pilot on County Road 1001 in the vicinity of the S.H. 14 intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the Honda failed to stop and yield the right of way to a train at a railroad crossing. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of a southbound train and the front-left side of the Honda. The collision caused the car to overturn, rolling an unknown number of times before coming to a stop resting upright in a roadside ditch of State Highway 14.
Gama suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident; she was declared deceased at the scene. The two children each incurred suspected severe injuries due to the wreck, as well. They were transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
