Comal County, TX — July 25, 2024, Angela Flores was killed as the result of a car accident at around 12:19 a.m. along F.M. 1863.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened in the area of Krueger Canyon, west of New Braunfels.
According to officials, 50-year-old Angela D. Flores was in a Mercedes-Benz going eastbound along F.M. 1863. The vehicle somehow left the road at the Krueger Canyon intersection. It continued some distance before crashing into a tree. As a result of the crash, Flores was killed. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident.

Right now, additional details can’t be confirmed. When it comes to single-vehicle wrecks, it’s important to know what all authorities are actually looking into. I get calls all the time from families who feel their loved one’s accident never really got the attention it deserved. A significant portion of those involve wrecks like this. They aren’t always seen as a high priority, so authorities may let a lot of possible factors slip through the cracks if they aren’t careful.
Did mechanical issues contribute to the crash? Did a tire blowout? Did the victim have a medical emergency? Were they unlawfully over-served by an alcohol provider? Was there another driver involved who left the scene? Did airbags and seatbelts function properly? It would shock folks how often I’ve looked at independent investigations consider these kinds of possibilities, and it turned out authorities never even bothered asking the questions. It’s one of the reasons so many single-vehicle wrecks end up in the hands of independent investigators.
Families deserve to know they’re getting the whole story. So if they find themselves weeks or months down the line satisfied authorities got them clear and convincing answers, authorities likely did a good job. But if they find they still have doubts that aren’t being addressed, there could be more to the story in need of more thorough investigations.
