Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Did authorities just file charges and move on, or did they look into why this driver supposedly left the accident scene? In my experience, it’s rarely just out of fear about the accident itself. There was usually something specific they didn’t want police to know about, such as drunk driving or warrants. Depending on what all happened here, a simple charge for failure to stop and render aid may have only been part of the larger story.
