UPDATE (October 30, 2025): Recent reports have been released which identify the woman who lost her life as a result of this accident as Ana Chavez. The person who had been behind the wheel of the wrong-way vehicle had allegedly been intoxicated by prescription drugs at the time of the wreck. Authorities have recommended Intoxication Manslaughter charges against him. No additional details are currently available. Investigations continue.
Humble, TX — October 11, 2025, a woman was killed due to a wrong-way car accident sometime in the afternoon along Interstate Highway 69.
According to authorities, a 52-year-old man was traveling in a southbound vehicle in the northbound lanes of I-69 in the vicinity of Townsen Boulevard when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, apparently due to the wrong-way situation, a head on collision occurred between the southbound vehicle and an oncoming motor vehicle occupied by a 22-year-old woman. The woman reportedly sustained critical injuries due to the wreck; she was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, she was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of her injuries, having there been declared deceased. Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
