How Did This Accident Occur?
Initial reports say the Volkswagen caused this crash when it ran a red light, but authorities still should complete a full investigation of this accident.
Authorities should look into how the Volkswagen’s lack of working headlights contributed to this crash, as well as determining if they were defective or simply not turned on at the time.
Investigators may confirm the sequence of events in the preliminary accident report after reviewing evidence from the scene, witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage of the crash, but they also could find that the traffic lights were not working properly at the intersection or that the Volkswagen had an issue with its brakes.
