Waco, TX — January 20, 2024, Amy Winn Thompson and one other were injured following a car accident at around 8:25 p.m. on West Waco Drive.

Preliminary details about the accident released by authorities say that it happened in the area of Waco Drive/U.S. 84 and Crescent Road.

According to officials, 48-year-old Amy Winn Thompson was a passenger in a vehicle going westbound on Waco Drive. The vehicle was apparently going the wrong way when the driver crashed with an oncoming pickup. Following this collision, the vehicle continued on before eventually leaving the roadway and crashing into a traffic control signal.

As a result of the accident, Thompson reportedly had serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle had apparently moderate injuries. Right now, additional details regarding the factors contributing to the accident are unconfirmed.
