Grayson County, TX — May 11, 2024, Ammar Nek, Batul Shakir-Nek, and four others were injured after a car accident at around 10:29 p.m. along FM 84.
Investigators said that the incident happened in the area of Lil Ole Road, northwest of Denison.
According to officials, 30-year-old Ammar Nek and 28-year-old Batul Shakir-Nek were in a Honda Civic going northbound on FM 84. Authorities said that a southbound Dodge Ram failed to yield turning off Lil Ole Road, and it crashed with the Honda and a Hyundai Tucson.
Reports say two people in the Hyundai were seriously injured. Ammar Nek, Batul Shakir-Nek, and two people from the Dodge had possible minor injuries reported. At this time, additional details about the accident remain unclear.

As open-and-shut as this may seem, a lot goes into a proper accident reconstruction. It’s important to make sure authorities took the necessary steps to gather all the facts. Did they analyze the roadway? Did they inspect the vehicles for defects? Did they pull electronic data from the vehicles, cellphones, and any cameras that may have been nearby? Did they record witness testimony? These are just some of the questions a complete accident investigation should cover. If that didn’t happen, there could be more to this story than meets the eye.
