Accident Report

Travis County, TX — July 24, 2026, Amere Redd was injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 10:50 p.m. on Cameron Road.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a southbound 2009 Honda Civic collided head-on with a northbound 2010 Honda Accord near the junction with Pickle Parkway/State Highway 130.

Accord driver Amere Redd, 21, was seriously injured in the Pflugerville area crash, according to the report. She was wearing a seatbelt.

The Civic driver, a 36-year-old man who also suffered serious injuries, was charged with intoxication assault after the crash, the report states.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Travis County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Authorities likely will investigate this crash like any other injury accident, but I hope they will expand their inquiry if blood tests confirm the Civic driver was intoxicated at the time. Investigators should look into where he had been drinking before the crash.

It’s one thing if he had been drinking at home, but if he had been at a bar or restaurant that alcohol provider could share responsibility for this crash under Texas law. Alcohol providers are not supposed to serve anyone who is obviously intoxicated. If they do, they could be accountable for any injuries caused when such a patron decides to get behind the wheel.

I don’t know if that is what happened in this instance, but the Accord driver and her family deserve to know everyone who may have played a role in this accident.
