Amber Jacobs, 2 Injured in Car Accident in Chambers County, TX

Chambers County, TX — June 2, 2024, Amber Jacobs and two others were injured following a single-vehicle car accident at 3:35 p.m. on Eagle Road.

Investigators said in preliminary statements that the accident happened near the intersection of Eagle Road and Shipyard Road, a few miles south of Anahuac.

According to officials, 38-year-old Amber Michelle Jacobs was a passenger in a Hyundai Tucson along with a 36-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy. Their vehicle was going eastbound on Eagle Road and entered a left-hand curve. The vehicle somehow ran off the side of the road where it then overturned. Jacobs was seriously injured as a result while the other two occupants had injuries described as moderate.

Right now, the exact cause of the crash is unconfirmed.

With single-vehicle wrecks, it’s important not to rule out anything, no matter how unusual, without looking at all of the evidence. People don’t generally know just how complex a proper accident reconstruction can be even when there’s only one vehicle involved.

Were there vehicle defects? Road hazards? Missing signage or lighting? Another driver who left the scene? These aren’t always the sort of thing a typical police investigation is going to look into on its own. If the efforts of authorities focus only on surface-level details, getting answers might only happen with more thorough independent investigations from experienced accident reconstructionists. I see no reason right now why this incident would be an exception.
