The causal factors that led to the accident remain unclear. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, an eastbound Jeep Commander occupied by a 46-year-old man failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It reportedly veered left, crossing over the center turn lane and entering the westbound lanes of the highway. This led to a head-on collision between the Jeep and the Toyota.

Both Moa and the man from the Jeep reportedly died as a result of the wreck. They were both declared deceased at the scene.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

While the exact factors surrounding the crash remain unconfirmed, authorities mentioned they found an open alcohol container in the Jeep. If that’s true, have authorities looked into whether alcohol caused this crash and, if so, where that alcohol came from?

Put simply, alcohol providers contribute to accidents like this when they illegally over-serve someone who was obviously intoxicated. So when people think there’s no accountability when the drunk driver isn’t around to face charges, they’re missing the fact there’s an accomplice out there still putting the community at risk. Now, maybe that isn’t what happened here. It’s just that with a red flag like that, it would be irresponsible to ignore the possibility there’s someone out there responsible for contributing to a fatal crash yet to answer for their actions. Is that something authorities are looking into at all here?
