Jasper County, TX — May 5, 2024, Amanda Marie and two others were injured following a car accident shortly after 2:15 p.m. along State Highway 62.
According to authorities, 41-year-old Amanda Marie, a 16-year-old girl, and a 15-year-old boy were traveling in a southbound Dodge Charger on S.H. 62 approaching the Farm to Market 2246 intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a northbound GMC Acadia SUV on the highway attempted a left turn onto F.M. 2246 at an apparently unsafe time, failing to yield the right of way to oncoming southbound traffic. This led to a collision between the front-end of the SUV and the front-left of the Charger.
Marie suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the wreck; the two teens who were also in the Charger received moderate injuries, as well. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
