Killeen, TX — January 11, 2025, two people were injured following an alleged intoxicated driver accident at around 10:00 p.m. along I-14.
According to initial details about the accident, it happened along the westbound lanes of the interstate in the area of Jasper Road.

Officials said that two people were in a Toyota sedan traveling westbound on the interstate. Up ahead, a Pontiac was apparently on the wrong side of the road driving eastbound. Due to this, the vehicles crashed head-on.
Due to the collision, the two occupants of the Toyota sustained reportedly non-life-threatening injuries. The Pontiac driver, allegedly intoxicated at the time, had no reported injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
If the allegations here are true, that frankly wouldn’t be too unusual. Someone getting on the wrong side of an interstate is almost always a sign they were intoxicated. After all, people in their right state of mind would likely avoid the situation altogether or at least pull over once they realized they made a mistake. That’s why it’s important not just to know if a driver was intoxicated but also to find out where they were coming from. If they had been drinking at a local establishment, that alcohol provider could be responsible for contributing to the accident.
In Texas, alcohol providers who over-serve people that are obviously intoxicated are doing so unlawfully. This potentially exposes them to criminal investigations, fines, suspended licenses, or liability for a resulting accident. Too often, these alcohol providers end up flying under the radar because authorities just go after intoxicated drivers, and that’s that. But so long as negligent establishments continue to serve people to the point they can’t tell which way is which, wrong-way accidents will continue to happen.
So while it’s not clear yet what all led to this accident, I see some all too familiar red flags. It’s important those red flags get attention through thorough investigations to ensure there is full accountability for what happened here. If nothing else, the victims involved deserve to know there will be an adequate resolution for the hardships put on them.
