The F-150 driver was hospitalized with minor injuries as well, authorities said, while the semi-truck driver was treated at the scene.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Did the F-250 or the Peterbilt leave its lane and cause this crash? That is among the first question that investigators must answer as they look into the accident, but they also need to figure out why.

Was one of the drivers fatigued or distracted, perhaps by a cell phone? Did a mechanical issue or software glitch contribute to the crash? I’m certain investigators will consider the first possibility, but the latter may be beyond the capabilities of most law enforcement agencies, in my experience. Modern vehicles are like rolling computers, so it takes a qualified expert to diagnose any problems have might have caused this accident.
