Bexar County, TX — October 23, 2023, Alexis Jasso sustained injuries due to a car accident at around 2:30 a.m. along the I-35 access road.
Initial details about the accident indicate that the crash took place in the area of the Interstate 35 and Loop 1604 intersection.

Officials said that 20-year-old Alexis Jasso was in a Hyundai Elantra going northbound on the I-35 service road. Details are unclear right now, but it appears the vehicle somehow ended up crashing into a barrier separating the service road and an on-ramp. Due to this, Jasso sustained serious injuries. No others were mentioned by authorities. The cause of the crash remains unclear.
Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Authorities suggested that they weren’t able to get much information from the victim. This is a challenge that folks don’t often consider. Since departments don’t often provide officers with the time and tools needed to do a proper accident reconstruction, they end up relying heavily on testimony from witnesses and the victims. But if there are not witnesses, and the victim was too injured to give a statement, it can put officers in a tough spot choosing either to leave an investigation incomplete or otherwise go with their gut. Needless to say, that leads to mistakes.
This fact is one reason why people in my profession as well as many police departments enlist the aide of professional accident reconstructionists. They have ample experience and state-of-the-art equipment to investigate anything from speeding to mechanical defects to road design flaws to alcohol to hit-and-runs. That way, victims can rest assured the evidence is telling their side of the story.
