Right now, no further information about the crash can be confirmed. My only hope is authorities handling things have been more thorough than what I’m used to seeing after motorcycle wrecks. While not always the case, I’ve had too many families come to me about crashes like this where authorities simply blamed the driver and moved on without really conducting a proper investigation. It’s just an unfortunate result of people being biased against motorcyclists despite the fact many of them are safe drivers.
That’s why it’s important that folks ask questions and understand what it is authorities are looking into and whether or not they’re actually prioritizing getting the evidence rather than just getting the investigations done as quickly as possible. If authorities were more open with people involved in serious accidents, it would either reassure them that the investigations are in good hands or help them to know when they need to look for independent investigators to pick up the slack. It remains to be seen how this situation is being handled.
