San Antonio, TX — June 28, 2024, Alexandra Vargas was killed and another person was injured in a car accident shortly before 2:00 a.m. on Historic Old Hwy. 90.
According to authorities, a 24-year-old man and 23-year-old Alexandra Vargas were traveling in an eastbound Dodge Charger on Historic Old Highway 90 near Cesar Chavez Way when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that the Charger was traveling at high speeds leading up to the wreck; it reportedly rear-ended a pickup truck, causing the Charger to burst into flames. Both Vargas and the man who had been behind the wheel of the Charger suffered severe injuries as a result of the wreck; they were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive immediate treatment. However, Vargas was ultimately unable to overcome the severity of her injuries, having later been declared deceased.
