How Did This Accident Occur?
It’s not clear at this point why this car left the road. Was it forced by another vehicle? Was the driver distracted or fatigued? Did the Acura have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanisms? The best way to answer those questions, in my experience, is to wait until the investigation is complete.
Authorities likely will work to reconstruct the crash by gathering physical evidence, witness statements, data from the Acura and any available video footage. Cell phone records could show what the driver was doing at the time of the crash, but an independent expert may be needed if investigators suspect a mechanical problem contributed to the accident. Most law enforcement agencies lack the time or training for the kind of forensic examination needed, from what I’ve seen in my career.
A thorough investigation should shed light on what happened on F.M. 1660 for the injured driver and her family.
