How Did This Accident Occur?
Since so little information about this crash has been made public so far, it is clear that a full investigation is needed to sort out what caused this accident. Was one driver distracted, fatigued or even impaired? Did the construction zone leave too little room for both vehicles? Did one vehicle have a mechanical issue that contributed to this collision?
These answers will become clear as investigators gather witness statements, evidence from the scene, data from both vehicles and any available video footage of the crash. Cell phone data could show what each driver was doing at the time of the crash.
If questions remain, the injured driver and her family may opt to seek an independent expert to look for possible mechanical issues with the vehicles, but that must be done quickly, before they are repaired or scrapped.
