Wise County, TX — June 22, 2024, Alexander Sanchez was injured following a car accident at around 2:00 a.m. along West Rock Island Avenue.
Preliminary details from authorities indicate that the crash happened on Rock Island/Highway 114 near Sessums Lane on the west side of town.
According to officials, 26-year-old Alexander Joseph Sanchez was in a Kia Sportage going eastbound on Rock Island. For reasons unconfirmed, the vehicle ran off the left side of the road. It careened over a culvert before overturning and hitting a tree. As a result, Sanchez sustained serious injuries.

With single-vehicle wrecks, one of my main concerns is always whether or not authorities are giving them the attention they need. Frankly, they’re not often seen as a priority for officials, and that can lead to situations where officers aren’t given the tools or the time they need to do their jobs properly. As a result, a lot of people end up with incomplete reports or even being blamed for something they couldn’t control. I’m not saying that happened here, necessarily, but if getting the facts required more thorough independent investigations, it wouldn’t be the first time.
