Accident Report
Cave City, KY — May 23, 2026, two children were killed and Aleah Kroger was injured in a truck accident at about 7 a.m. on Interstate 65.
Authorities said a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe was heading north when it crashed into a semi-truck parked on the shoulder near mile marker 53.
Driver Aleah Kroger, 35, of Dayton, OH suffered critical injuries in the crash, according to authorities, while two children riding with her were pronounced dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Barren County crash at this time.

Was the truck legally parked? Did the driver put out flares or triangles so it would be visible to other drivers? Was it fully off the road? Did the Hyundai leave the road because of a problem with its steering mechanism?
