Austin, TX — May 3, 2024, Alberto Gonzalez was injured following a multi-vehicle car accident at approximately 6:30 a.m. along Interstate Highway 35.
According to authorities, 53-year-old Alberto Gonzalez was traveling in a northbound Ford Ranger in I.H. 35 in the vicinity south of Norwood Park when the accident took place.
Traffic conditions in the area at the time were reportedly slowing. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a Honda Pilot failed to appropriately control its speed for the conditions, resulting in a rear-end collision with the Ford. This collision caused the Ford to be pushed forward, leading to a secondary collision between the front-end of the pickup truck and the rear-end of the trailer being pulled by an 18-wheeler.
Gonzalez suffered reportedly severe injuries as a result of the crash; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
