Regardless of what led to this crash, there’s another detail here which may not be getting the attention it needs. Put simply, in a head-on collision like this, people in each vehicle tend to have similar out comes when they’re in relatively safe, modern vehicles. The fact one person here was apparently seriously injured when the other driver wasn’t harmed at all (according to officials) is a concerning one. Did the safety features of the victim’s vehicle not perform as expected? Were there extenuating circumstances which could explain this discrepancy? And, importantly, are authorities even looking into these details at all?
