Maple Grove, MN — September 25, 2025, Adam Smith sustained fatal injuries due to a dump truck accident around 1:00 p.m. on Highway 610.
According to preliminary statements on the accident, it happened in a construction zone along Highway 610.
Initial statements about the accident say that 25-year-old Adam Smith was on foot at the time. While reportedly in the area of a construction site, a dump truck backed up and struck Adam Smith.
Due to the collision, Adam Smith was killed. Authorities have not reported any additional details at this time.

There seem to be a lot more questions than answers here. One of the main challenges with deadly accidents is making sure someone is asking all the right questions. I speak to families all the time who are surprised when authorities move on without really giving an accident the attention it needs. Perhaps authorities here are being more diligent, but sometimes it’s best that independent investigators are taking steps to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
