Accident Report
March 30, 2026, Adam Blodgett was injured due to a motorcycle versus truck accident at approximately 6:00 p.m. along Troy Street.
According to authorities, 20-year-old Adam Blodgett was traveling on a motorcycle on troy Street near the Liberty Street intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, a collision occurred between the motorcycle and an 18-wheeler.
Blodgett apparently became trapped underneath the truck and had to be extricated by emergency personnel. Once freed from the wreckage, he was flown to an area medical facility in order to receive immediate treatment.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Most people will look at this accident and assume that the motorcyclist was at fault, but I don’t think that would be the most prudent thing to do. Honestly, I think motorcyclists get a bad rap. I’ve been doing this job for over thirty years. In that time, I’ve seen plenty of cases where, despite how things might have looked on the surface, the investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was not, in fact, at fault for the wreck. This accident might just be another one of those cases.
To be transparent, I do not know more about this case than anyone else outside of the investigation. I’m just pointing out that we still don’t have very much public information at all about what caused the accident. Was there a mechanical malfunction with the truck or with the motorcycle that might have played a part? Was the truck driver dealing with distraction, fatigue, or impairment? There are so many questions that have yet to be answered. Hopefully investigators—either authorities or a third party—are getting to the bottom of it.
