It appears that a 47-year-old man was on foot by a Nissan Altima along southbound lanes. An 18-wheeler was going southbound when it somehow struck the man along the roadway. Due to this, the man sustained serious injuries.

Right now, additional details about the crash are unavailable.

How Did This Accident Occur?

People tend to see an accident involving someone on foot along an interstate, and they assume that the person on foot must have been in the wrong. It is possible this happened due to someone being in the wrong place at the wrong time. However, there could always be extenuating circumstances to consider.

Just as a hypothetical, was the driver in an emergency situation following some prior accident? The reports mention a nearby unoccupied car. I’ve seen situations where someone crashed, and that left them with serious injuries and in a confused state. It wouldn’t really be right to treat someone like they were just being reckless when it could be they had little or no control over the situation.

That’s just one possibility to consider, and I can only hope authorities have been careful not to brush off anything too hastily. The more possibilities they can rule out, the more complete a picture they can get for the victim and the family affected by all of this.

Did anyone pass through the area around the time of the accident and see something unusual? Let me know in the comments, if so.
