Accident Report
April 13, 2026, two people were injured following an 18-wheeler accident at around 8:00 p.m. along US Highway 77.
Authorities said that the accident took place in the area of the US 77 and FM 908 intersection. It appears that a 65-year-old Fort Worth man was in a Chevy Silverado going southeast along the roadway. A 57-year-old Edcouch man was in a tractor-trailer going southwest. At the intersection, the two vehicles collided.
As a result of the crash, both the Fort Worth man and the Edcouch man sustained serious injuries. Right now, additional details remain unconfirmed.
How Did This Accident Occur?
At an intersection like this, the most common factors in a crash are going to be distracted driving or just not paying attention to make sure it’s safe to cross. It wouldn’t be unusual if that happened here. But even those factors which are unusual deserve attention. I’ve seen plenty of situations where early reports missed huge details.
For example, there was one crash I was speaking to a colleague about that happened out in west Texas. Initial details made it seem like a man ran a stop sign, leading to a crash. What the public never got to hear, though, was that TxDOT had actually removed the stop sign while doing construction work. They forgot to replace the sign when they left, meaning there was no stop sign to run.
I’m not saying that happened here, of course, but it’s a good example of why jumping to conclusions never helped anyone. That’s why it’s important victims and families know the crash is getting close attention so that the evidence can speak for itself. Hopefully that happens here.
